The BCCDC Foundation is very pleased to announce an addition to our team! We’ve hired Ms Katie Koncan to join us in the capacity of Senior Development Officer.

Katie is an enthusiastic, focused, and dedicated team player who brings an interesting cross-section of relevant experience from non-profits in BC and Australia. From annual giving programs and special events, to major gifts and corporate giving, Katie has a knack for developing fundraising plans that build relationships with donors to engage them in their passions and amplify their impact, and departmental strategies that work well with partners and staff alike.

Most recently with Pivot Legal Society, Katie brings an understanding of how policy, health care, and government intersect, particularly in light of BC’s ongoing overdose emergency.

Katie is passionate about connecting supporters to what they care about and working with them to realize their philanthropic potential in service of their cause. Her favourite professional moment was when she received a letter and cheque (of over $1,000!) from a class of 8th grade students who sold frozen yogurt to raise funds in support of sex workers’ rights. It was in that moment that she realized that everyone, regardless of their age, can play an important role in philanthropy in a way that’s meaningful to them and their charity of choice.
