Jody Sparrow

Jody Sparrow is a xwməθkwəy̓əm born and raised Coast Salish artist whose ancestry is from Musqueam/Squamish Nations. He is part of the movement to revive and celebrate Coast Salish art styles on Coast Salish lands, and is proud share his knowledge and experience with his daughters, granddaughter, and the larger community. He has been practicing this craft for over a decade, and is now using his expertise as a Red Seal Carpenter to create what will be one of the first 36-foot traditional xԝməӨkԝəy’əm Musqueam Cedar Salish Sea-Going Canoes created in the last 100 years.
