Legacy Giving

Leave a meaningful legacy for future generations.

Create Lasting Change

By leaving a bequest — a charitable gift in your will — you can create a lasting benefit for a cause that is meaningful to you, while helping to reduce the taxes on your estate.

When you leave a legacy gift, you’ll:

  • Create lasting impact that will support future generations.
  • Make a meaningful gift without impacting your current finances.
  • Realize tax benefits now or for your final estate (depending on how your gift is arranged).
  • Ensure your loved ones receive the maximum inheritance possible.

There Are Many Ways to Leave a Legacy

A bequest is one of the most significant charitable contributions you can make, with many easy and flexible options to consider that include the following:

Specific Bequest

Designate a set financial amount, or a specific asset such as a gift of securities.

Residuary Bequest

Designate the percentage of your estate that you wish to donate.

Contingent Bequest

Designate a charity as the beneficiary in the event that the primary beneficiary predeceases the donor.

Life Insurance

Name your chosen charity as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy, or donate an existing policy to your charity now and immediately receive a tax receipt.

Registered Funds

Name your charity as the beneficiary of your RRSP, RRIF, or TFSA.

Sample wording for your bequest:

We strongly encourage you to discuss your plans with a lawyer and/or financial advisor prior to finalizing your will. The following wording can help to guide that conversation:

I gift to the Pacific Public Health Foundation the sum of $______ OR______% for general purposes as determined by and at the discretion of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Important information that you will need to include in your will:

When including the Pacific Public Health Foundation in your will or any other legal document, it’s important to include our correct legal information to ensure that your gift can be made smoothly and without error or confusion for your executor.

Legal name: Pacific Public Health Foundation

Registered address: 1500 – 1090 West Georgia St, Vancouver, BC, V6E 3V

Charitable registration number: 86127 7309 RR0001

We would be happy to speak with you about your interests and goals in making a legacy gift. If you have already included the Foundation in your will, please let us know so that we can thank you for your generous commitment to the health and well-being of current and future generations.
