The BCCDC Foundation was proud to celebrate the recognition of “science rockstar” Dr. Jennifer Gardy on Thursday March 3rd, 2016 at the Simon Fraser University Outstanding Alumni Awards. Dr. Gardy joined other notable alumni, including Margaret Trudeau, in speaking to a sold-out crowd of more than 450 guests at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Dr. Gardy’s story focused on her arrival at the intersection of science and communications, using her story as an example of how anyone can follow their dreams to create their own unique career and life path. The inspiring evening included many amazing stories from the diverse speakers, coinciding with SFU’s 50th anniversary. On behalf of the BCCDC, we want to congratulate Dr. Gardy on her recognition and for her continued leadership and dedication to the advancement of public health.
